Neurological Physiotherapy is for people who are having difficulties with their physical function and movement.
Often neurological conditions originate from problems within the body’s nervous and neuromuscular system.
We provide specialist neurological physiotherapy whether you have had an acute neurological injury such as a stroke, or you have a long-term condition such as Parkinson’s Disease or multiple sclerosis.

Got a few questions
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between physiotherapy and neurophysiotherapy?
Neurological physiotherapy will specifically assess the problems that result from a neurological disorder. These may include spasticity, weakness, walking problems, balance problems and altered movement patterns.
My stroke was many years ago, is there anything physiotherapy can do for me?
Yes – neuroplasticity allows our brains to modify, change and adapt both structure and function throughout our lives. Therefore, physio can be appropriate at any time following a neurological injury.
I have a progressive neurological condition, what can physiotherapy do for me?
Physio can help to maintain function that you have, as well as recover potentially lost function following a relapse of your disease or following a recent illness. Remaining active can help people with long term conditions both physically and mentally.
What equipment will I need?
Nothing! We will bring everything to you. All we will need is a small space for a physio bed to be set up (if needed for your assessment) and an area where you can walk a few paces (if we need to assess your walking). We can be totally flexible to your needs and can complete assessments and treatments wherever you are most comfortable at home.
